Great news, the London Underground tube strikes have been called off on Wednesday 4th October and Friday 6th October. All service is expected to resume as normal throughout London. The obvious concerns as to how this would affect those trying to attend BLE was understandable has now been lifted, however the national rail strikes are still supposed to go ahead on Wednesday 4th only.
Given the late timing of this decision, they will proceed as planned with the measures announced last week to adjust show hours and host additional drinks on the 2nd day of the event.
The event hours will remain:
Wednesday 4 October: 9am-6pm: Optional additional hour between 5-6pm for meetings
Thursday 5 October: 8am-7pm: Optional additional hours between 8-9am and 5-7pm for meetings
Friday 6 October: 9am-3pm: Earlier close to allow attendees and exhibitors maximum time for their onward journeys due to expected travel disruption
The organisers will also host TWO drinks receptions on the BLE show floor from 5-7pm on October 4 and October 5. The receptions are free to attend for all attendees and exhibitors.
The UK National Rail strikes are still scheduled to go ahead on Wednesday 4th October so please plan your journey if you are travelling outside of London, however there are no planned disruptions on Thursday 5th October and Friday 6th October.
