Summer’s on the way and we’re heading fast into the 2nd quarter toy calendar.
It’s the May highlight of the year and we’ve got the full Toymaster preview bursting with must-sees and not-to-be-missed product highlights including an informed chat with Paul Reader and Brian McLaughlin and what’s been happening at the heart of the Toymaster headquarters.
Talking of shows, we’re halfway between 2023 and 2024 London Toy Fair so what better time to catch up with BTHA’s 80th anniversary celebrations. Roland Earl, shares his thoughts with us on its past, present and future – and each of the three eras is fascinating.
We cover Distoy show. This was just one comment we received from a Distoy visitor last year: “If anyone can devise a more efficient way to work than Distoy, I’d love to see it. Just had 50+ meetings with distributors from more than 30 countries in 3 days.” We catch up with David Potter, founder of Distoy on why it’s such a great show.
And lastly. Las Vegas Licensing Expo. We take a look at what’s going on over the three days and what is arguably a must see global event of leading retailers, manufacturers and marketers.
We’ve got a retail interview with Michael Cleary of JKC Toymaster. And he tells us he’s “probably the best kid’s toy shop in Ireland.” He fills us in as to why and what’s hot to trot on the high street.
Still on retail, we’ve got Paul Wohl of Argosy Toys and Utah based The Red Balloon Toy Store’s David Castillo for a US perspective with their inside views of both sides of the global toy sector.
May’s special features concentrate on Arts & Crafts and a focus on Back to School & Stationery. There’s some really good new products to add to your buying list.
The icing on the cake? We have this month’s young toy tester, Amelia trying out Epoch’s new Pati-school decoration kits. Almost good enough to eat…
All this and the usual favourites – What’s new, Don’t miss, Opinion pieces and Insights.
So, enjoy the read and we look forward to seeing you at the shows or do get in touch with claire@tnpmedia.co.uk or ant@tnpmedia.co.uk, Team TnP always look forward to hearing from you for all your views and opinions.
