On Monday (11 October) TIME will celebrate ‘International Day of the Girl’ by launching two exciting partnerships with LEGO and Mattel’s Barbie

Red Border by TIME (TIME’s branded content studio) has partnered with the toy brand LEGO to highlight inspirational girls and young women who are doing amazing things in the world. As part of the partnership, TIME covers were chosen featuring inspirational young women and turned into “LEGOized” TIME covers.

The covers include: Gitanjali Rao, an inventor and scientist aged 15 who is TIME’s first-ever Kid of the Year; Amanda Gorman, a champion of the Black experience who, at 23, is the youngest inaugural poet in US history; and Brit Bennett, a best-selling novelist who has mined her own family history to create spellbinding stories about kinship and bonds.

TIME For Kids and Mattel are partnering on two episodes of ‘Barbie You Can Be Anything,’ which is a digital series for parents and kids featuring conversations with female role models, fun activities, and performances.

This series is returning following the debut of four episodes in the spring around International Women’s Day. It will feature TIME For Kids Kid Reporters in episodes 5 and 6. Episode 5 (with Kid reporter Tabitha Kho) will go live on Saturday 16 October and Episode 6 (with Kid reporters Lauryn Chew, Gabri Blankson, and Via Ryerson) will go live on Saturday 23 October.

Episode 5 – Let’s Get Creative

Here’s a preview of Episode 5 – Let’s Get Creative, premiering on 16 October: join Barbie and host, gold medal-winning gymnast, Laurie Hernandez, as they put the spotlight on creativity and self-expression. This episode features Tabitha in conversation with music producer Ester Dean, a performance by dancers from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, an exclusive music video launch from DJ Sparkle of Girls Make Beats, plus a knitting tutorial from reporter and artist Shayna Rose. Whether you want to knit, dance, produce or sing, remember: you can be anything!
