Spielwarenmesse has revealed more details of its new section aimed at highlighting kidult products at next year’s show.
Life’s A Playground – Kidsters, Kidults & Co, making its first appearance in Nuremberg at the 2024 Spielwarenmesse, due to take place from January 30 to February 3, is an “interactive special area broken down into four categories and offer up products that, organisers said, no store can afford to be without.
The four sections are Collectibles, Premium Colletibles, Creative Fantasy and Tabletop Games. The first focuses on adults buying for collections, while the premium part looks at those that are an investment; Creative Fantasy takes in role-playing games, miniature games and also trading card games, while the final part, Tabletop Games, brings in board games and more.
The section will, organisers noted, offer “ not only the relevant products but also retail-specific ideas and insider knowledge”.
Spokesperson Christian Ulrich said: “Adults with an interest in games have long been more than just a niche market. They represent a target group with high levels of sales, and it is essential for the toy trade to keep them in their sights.
“The whole ‘Life’s a Playground’ concept, through its interactive special area and factual expert knowledge, clearly indicates the great potential that lies within this target group. It highlights new approaches for range expansion and sales growth.”
