TnP’s founder, Malcolm Naish, shares some fond memories of his good friend and ex-colleague, John Davis
“I am sad to record the passing of John Davis at the age of 79. Well known in wholesale buying circles, John wrote our original ‘Wholesale Focus’ articles, before handing over to Andrew Henshall. John’s father Max founded Lowes Wholesale along with a Mr. Taylor in Southport. Both had sons named John who eventually joined the company. In 1986 they joined the Lion Group, closing their business in the early nineties. John joined Wilkinson Richmond and a few years later joined John Hutt at Halsalls, retiring in 2010.
Along with his wife Jenny, John was a regular participant in a number of toy trade golfing days and a member of Hillside golf club.
For anyone able to attend, John’s funeral will be held at the Southport Crematorium on 17th January at 11 am followed by drinks at Hillside golf club.”
