Spin Master has inked a mammoth worldwide deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment which will see the former become the global master toy licensee for Sony’s PlayStation and the Sony-owned PS games too.
The deal covers toy and collectible merchandising rights for a wealth of titles and franchses, tking in the likes of God Of War, Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Of Us and more.
Spin Master will develop products in the “collectible, playset, plush, roleplay, vehicles, RC, and games & puzzles categories” according to the joint statement.
It follows hot on the heels of the success of the blockbuster, effects-laden film based on Uncharted starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, as well as a forthcoming TV series based on The Last Of Us.
Spin Master’s president of toys and chief commercial officer Chris Beardall said: “Both SIE’s PlayStation and Spin Master share a common goal, to inspire and entertain consumers through the relentless pursuit of innovation. Together we will bring the interactive storytelling of Sony’s immersive PlayStation games to life in an all-new way, extending the fandom from digital to reimagined physical play.”
