Ravensburger hosts its inaugural Disney Lorcana Store Summit ahead of Challenge Event at Birmingham NEC.
Welcoming 100+ attendees from across the UK Hobby store partnership network to its first ever Disney Lorcana Store Summit event, Ravensburger invited visitors to the Summit to attend an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the brands’ 4th Challenge Event taking place over the weekend at the NEC ahead of its official opening.
The Store Summit included presentations, brand insights and comment from visiting Ravensburger representatives Naomi Kim, International Product Manager – Disney Lorcana US and Tim Schilder, Game Development Manager, alongside UK team members Ben Lovell Disney Lorcana TCG Category & Sales Manager, Lea Dillenseger, product marketing manager and Alex Parker, organised play coordinator. Praise for the event was widespread among attendees who were keen to provide positive feedback on what they felt was an immersive, engaging and collaborative day. “Was a great summit, learnt a lot!” Commented Vini Gardner from Mad for Miniatures, St Austell. Matt from Harlequins in Preston concurred stating that “rarely stay all day at these trade events but it was very informative and the demos afterwards were well run”.
Designed to share brand developments with store partners, gain valuable insights and suggestions during extended Q&A sessions as part of the day’s program, Alex Parker believed the session provided a hugely successful format in which to encourage and develop key retailer relationships for Disney Lorcana. “We were blown away by the numbers attending the event and the resulting feedback” he comments. “We were able to share exclusive brand insights with the attendees and provide a platform for them to put forward suggestions, developments and ideas around how we can continue to grow our working relationship with them going forward. Organised play and in-store events is key to the long term growth of Disney Lorcana and Hobby Stores are our eyes and ears into the player network, establishing safe community hubs and spaces where fans can gather and play. The Summit provided a great way for us to share ideas in a collaborative environment.”
Over 2,000 Players from across Europe gathered across the weekend for two days of intense competition to become the “European Challenge Champion” Top performing Illumineers were able to take part in side events to earn various rewards and exclusive items, with successful participants able to secure qualifications for future Lorcana invite-only events.
