Next month, The LEGO Group is inviting families to join a UK-wide Magical Mystery Hunt for the brick-built LEGO Ford Anglia, which has mysteriously vanished somewhere in the UK.
The LEGO Harry Potter Magical Mystery Hunt marks 20 years since the launch of the LEGO Harry Potter range, and the release of blockbuster movie Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.
The 20th anniversary was commemorated earlier this year with the release of six golden Minifigures of Harry Potter, Lord Voldemort, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Severus Snape and Quirinus Quirrell.
Taking place across London, Edinburgh & Cardiff on6 November and 7 November, each hunt will start at a 3ft Gold LEGO Harry Potter Statue, from where families will follow and solve clues to unlock three secret words. In a race against time across the cities, competitors must find all three words to reveal the location of the brick-built LEGO Ford Anglia. Whoever finds it first, will win a bundle of LEGO Harry Potter prizes.
For those unable to join the hunt in real life, The LEGO Group is offering a virtual experience with the same prizes up for grabs at www.lego.com/en-gb/themes/harry-potter/magical-mystery-hunt.
“There has certainly been some magical meddling going on across the UK, with our golden Minifigures scaled up 25 times and hidden for families to find”
Leonora Lennie, The LEGO Group
Leonora Lennie at The LEGO Group said: “There has certainly been some magical meddling going on across the UK, with our golden Minifigures scaled up 25 times and hidden for families to find. Whoever has hidden the LEGO Ford Anglia has done a very good job – we can’t find it anywhere, so we’re calling all witches, wizards and muggles to join in at a city near them, or online, to help us track it down and bring it back safely! We want all families to be able to experience this regardless of where they live, so with our immersive digital offering, they can virtually travel around the UK and join in the LEGO Harry Potter Magical Mystery Hunt.â€
The LEGO Group is keeping details of the Magical Mystery Hunt close to its chest but has released a series of images that tease the locations of the Magical Mystery Hunt, leaving Harry Potter and LEGO fans desperately trying to solve the clues.
