World Book Day and associated activity is almost upon us – it’s World Book Day this weekend – and Hamleys is planning a wealth of activity across March 4 and 5.
The retailer is hosting the likes of authors Richard & Lewis Edwards Middleton, Ewa Joezekowicz and Gavin Rhodes, plus CBeebies presenter Evie Pickerill at its flagship Regent Street store in the heart of London’s West End, where they will be reading their favourite stories.
There’s also activity themed around big books and brands, from Stoytime With The Very Hungry Caterpillar, to Harry Potter themed fun with the Sorting Hat Ceremnoy and Spell-Casting Workshop, alongside a free Wizarding World LEGO gift for anyone turning up in Potter costumers, with a Gruffalo Hamleys Puppet Theatre presentation, alongside plenty more fun and all the typical Hamleys elements, such as its daily opening ceremony and, of course, the Hamleys Bear.
There will be similar activity over at its sister branch in White City’s Westfield shopping centre, with face-painting and CBeebies host Evie Pickerill and the stars of “Operation Ouch”, the O Twins, Dr Dan and Dr Raph, plus a very special visit from The Grufflalo.
