Hachette Boardgames UK will be launching the tile-laying game, Festival this Autumn. It is a creation from the talents behind Sky Team and In The Footsteps of Darwin.
In The Footsteps of Darwin, Gregory Grard’s 2023 title, is currently shortlisted for the prestigious Spiel Des Jahres, which is considered one of the most significant awards in the board games industry. Sky Team, from publisher Scorpion Masqué, is also up for this year’s Spiel Des Jahres, and has been recommended as one of the best two player games of the year.
Rob Trounce of Hachette Boardgames UK said: “We work tirelessly to put more great games on UK tables, and we’re delighted to have Scorpion Masqué join our portfolio with Festival. This is a stunning production with eye-popping artwork and addictive yet accessible gameplay. This one will go over at game night with a bang.”
Festival has players selecting tiles to put together fireworks spectacles in the world’s major cities that are challenging each other to deliver the most beautiful festival imaginable. The tiles are chosen to create the most impressive and beautiful fireworks display possible and score the most points. The game is for the family and is designed for players aged eight and upwards.
Festival launches in late October, just in time for Bonfire Night.
