The British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA), which organises the upcoming Toy Fair, has issued a statement in light of the recent update from the government regarding the Omicron coronavirus variant. The exhibition is due to be held from 25 January to 27 January at Olympia London.
BTHA director of fairs & special events Majen Immink said: “The BTHA would like to reassure the industry that while there are no mandated changes to guidance for large indoor events such as Toy Fair, our preparations for the January event are full steam ahead and we are working closely with Olympia London to ensure all necessary measures are taken to protect the health and safety of all our participants.

“This includes enhanced cleaning operations, an improved ventilation system, multiple hand sanitisation points, use of a second point of entry/exit (via the National Hall foyer) and mandatory Covid status checks for all participants.
“We will continue to track the industry and government (both local and national) guidance closely, including any mandated changes in restrictions such as compulsory mask wearing, and will update participants accordingly.
We very much look forward to welcoming the industry to Toy Fair in January in a safe and productive environment.â€
