The Hachette Boardgames Group has announced a new distribution partnership with Edition Spielwiese, the German publisher behind major titles such as MicroMacro, Uwe Rosenberg’s Puzzle Trilogy, Prey Another Day and many more.
This collaboration will bring the titles to more UK and US channels than ever before, thanks to Hachette’s excellent retail partnerships and unparalleled distribution network.
These include the Spiel des Jahres winning MicroMacro line – a series of detective games in which players undertake challenges to solve crimes by locating key events and characters on large-scale cartoon-like maps.
“Edition Spielewiese are a publisher of the highest calibre, and we are beyond proud to have them (and their amazing titles!) join our catalogue of family-friendly games for UK audiences”
It will see several new MicroMacro titles launching, with the first release being MicroMacro Jigsaw: The Funfair – a new way to explore a classic MicroMacro map with exclusive new mini challenges available in the box.
The remaining MicroMacro line will fall under Hachette’s distribution in the 2nd half of 2025, and further MicroMacro titles are set to be announced in 2025.
In addition to this, further existing Edition Spielwiese titles will join Hachette’s roster in 2025, such as The Same Game – a title from Wolfgang Warsch, the hit designer behind The Quacks of Quedlinburg, The Mind, and Wavelength.
Rob Trounce, marketing manager of Hachette Boardgames UK said “Edition Spielewiese are a publisher of the highest calibre, and we are beyond proud to have them (and their amazing titles!) join our catalogue of family-friendly games for UK audiences. Our mission is to get more games on UK tables, and Edition Spielwiese’s amazing titles will make that goal ever more achievable.”
There will also be a suite of brand new, yet-to-be-announced titles available from Edition Spielwiese for the first time.
Michael Schmitt, founder of Edition Spielwiese, said of the partnership “After working with Hachette’s subsidiary BlackRock as my international partner in France, I am now even more pleased to become a bigger part of the Hachette family.”
The MicroMacro Jigsaw is now available, and further Edition Spielewiese titles will be joining Hachette’s distribution in early 2025 onwards.
