Currying AAdvent battery favour this Christmas

The Christmas tradition of forgetting to buy batteries for children’s presents leaves 3 in 5 families with tears & tantrums. Currys is offering to stop this with a seriously boring ‘AAdvent’ calendar so that kids can play with their new favourite toys. Also, and for more back up power, Currys online is offering a pack of 12 batteries for just a penny this December.

Currys is hoping to boost Christmas happiness with the launch of this limited edition AAdvent Calendar, with 24 doors each hiding a battery to ensure kids are able to play on Christmas Day. Whilst it may not be a glam beauty or coffee lover themed calendar, new Currys research reveals that well over half of British parents (61%) forget to buy batteries for their children’s Christmas presents.

Many assume that batteries are included in toys and gadgets, only to open them and find the slot empty. Cue rummaging around in that ‘bits and bobs’ drawer or random cupboards for the elusive battery that has the power and is actually the right size. Parents say their kids try to stay strong but get upset when they realise what’s missing. The youngest children are particularly sad with nearly two thirds of 3-year-olds getting upset.

To help make doubly sure parents don’t forget to get new batteries whilst shopping online, Currys is also offering parents a 12 pack of Logik AAA batteries (that’ll be AAAdvent batteries then) for just 1p from the Currys website This includes free delivery using the code ‘stopxmastears’

The AAdvent Calendar has been available to purchase online for £5 from 28 November for £5.

The 1p battery pack promotion on Logik 12 pack AAA batteries runs from 2 December.

Grab a pack of x12 batteries online now whilst stocks last.

The Aadvent calendar is not suitable for children and is not edible. Now there’s a boring surprise.
