Fence Club Chairman’s Charity Walk 2024

Fence Club Chairman’s Charity Walk 2024 – Ypres Belgium 9th 10th  August 2024

The Fence Club is continuing the tradition of the Chairman’s Charity Challenge to honour the brave of our Nation & Commonwealth who served to preserve the democracy we all enjoy today. In 2023 the chairman and friends honoured all that served in WW2 with a circa 30km walk along the Normandy coastline along the D Day landing sites, raising funds for the Fence Club charities, helping children in great need of assistance & help in their young lives.

“The objective for the event is to raise as much money as possible for the Fence Club Charity, where every penny raised goes to charities that support children and families in dire need”

On Friday 9th August, Fence Club chairman Jon Gregory and a hardy bunch of eleven, self-funded Charity fund raisers including Members, Wall Members & friends of the Fence Club embark on a route of around 38 km that takes in the very historical & emotional route along the Battlefields of WW1 in Ypres Belgium, to honour the fallen. It has real significance to several of our walking fundraisers, some of whom had relations in this specific battle plus others with similar family stories of heroism & bravery throughout what we call the “Great War“ of 1914-1918.

The objective for the event is to raise as much money as possible for the Fence Club Charity, where every penny raised goes to charities that support children and families in dire need.
