The BTHA is pleased to announce that six Golden Teddy Awards have been presented to six exceptional individuals representing a number of areas across the industry, all of whom have contributed considerably to the industry over many years.

Golden Teddy Awards were presented to Russell Lipman (Wilton Bradley), Paul Wright (Mashal Toy Agencies), Mike Coe (BTHA sustainability consultant), Michael Ives (Mamas and Papas), David Bolton (British Retail Consortium) and Malcolm Horner (Bureau Veritas)at both the Toymaster Show in Harrogate and at a special event in Central London for BTHA Technical experts respectively.

As part of their award presentations, reasons cited included dedicated service to the industry through toy sales, loyal membership of the BTHA Technical Committee, trustworthiness within their companies, as people of great standing and all revered by their peers and colleagues alike.

Golden Teddy Awards are given to people who have served the toy industry for more than 15 years and to those who have gone over and above expectations and who possess an extraordinary degree of niceness, honesty and integrity and are the industry’s genuinely good people. Golden Teddy Awards give individual contribution and dedication over the years the public recognition it deserves.

Russell Lipman’s colleagues at Wilton Bradley had this to say about him: “Russell is genuinely the most personable, honest, loyal character you could ever wish to meet. Everyone he has ever worked with and all his current colleagues hold him in the highest regard as do all his customers, many of which he has been servicing for a large part of his long career, especially within the Toymaster group in his area. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Russell, he goes about his job diligently and without ever a mutter of fuss. He is a humble and unassuming man with a heart of gold and we all know that the golden teddy award would be the icing on the cake for such an incredible commitment to our industry.”

Russell has worked for many companies over the years with 12 of those at Wilton Bradley where he currently works as area sales manger. Some of his previous roles included National Account Manager at Hasbro, Account Manager at Mattel, National Account Manager at Rainbow Designs and Areas Sales Rep H. Grossman.

Graham Canning, Chairman of the British Toy & Hobby Association said: “On behalf of us all at the British Toy & Hobby Association, my congratulations go to all our very worthy Golden Teddy Award winners for their loyal and substantial individual contributions to the industry over many years. Our winners represent all that is good about this fantastic industry â€“ dedication, integrity and going over and above expectations. My congratulations once again to them all.”
