Board Game Club’s June event took place on Tuesday night at its home in London’s Century Club with a mission: to provide an eclectic, vibrant mix of games which carefully combined the old with the new, and it didn’t disappoint.

The packed games menu was a veritable smorgasbord of titles offering something for everyone. Classics such as Fireball Island, Articulate, Bananagrams, Rummikub, Sequence and Uno were just some of the much-loved titles on offer alongside a selection of fresh new games handpicked from last week’s UK Games Expo. These included 13 Beavers (Format Games), Mycelia (Ravensburger), Belratti (Thames and Kosmos), Dumb Questions To Ask Your Friends (Big Potato) and Snoop (Clarendon Games) as well as many others.

“Some of the new titles on the menu were only released at UK Games Expo over the weekend, meaning that our members got to enjoy them ‘hot off the press’ – that’s something we love doing”

“This month’s Board Game Club had a real buzz about it,” commented Mary Bobroff, joint head of consumer campaigns at Playtime PR. “It’s always brilliant to have favourites like Othello, Screwball Scramble and Scrabble on the menu as they evoke a huge amount of nostalgia and familiarity, but it’s also really exciting to bring brand-new games to the table too, as well as fresh new takes on the classics.

“Some of the new titles on the menu were only released at UK Games Expo over the weekend, meaning that our members got to enjoy them ‘hot off the press’ – that’s something we love doing, and is the essence of what Board Game Club is all about.”

The next event takes place on Tuesday 2 July and full details will be announced soon.
