East London board games company Big Potato Games is the latest UK indie to make it big in the US and was this week celebrating its success across the Atlantic.
Big Potato alongside inventor Dominic Yard was nominated for a Toy of the Year award in the Grown Up category for their collaboration on Chicken Vs Hotdog.
“We’re so chuffed to see Chicken Vs Hotdog receive recognition in the States. The game was inspired by the bottle-flipping trend, and it’s been in the works for quite a few years”

The flip-it-and-stick-it party game has recently “toured” the US, with local news hosts given it coverage by playing the game and highlighting it on air.
Celebrating its success, Big Potato Games; head of global marketing Becky McKinlay said: “We’re so chuffed to see Chicken Vs Hotdog receive recognition in the States. The game was inspired by the bottle-flipping trend, and it’s been in the works for quite a few years. It’s a very silly game — there’s something so satisfying (and addictive!) when you manage to land one of the characters with an audible “slap” on the table. The game was one of our most successful new launches in the UK last year, and we hope it follows suit in the US.”
